Yekini Nabena, the deputy national publicity secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) says the ruling party will reclaim its stolen mandate in Bauchi, Sokoto and Adamawa states.
The APC chieftain said the elections which the candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) won were marred with massive rigging, violence and incidences of vote buying.
According to him, the election in those states fell short of acceptable minimum standard, the Nation reports.

He also believes that rerun elections conducted by INEC in these states were not conducted in line with the laid down rules and regulations of the electoral umpire.
“Following a review of the governorship re-run election in Bauchi, Sokoto and Adamawa states, it is evident that massive rigging, thuggery and vote-buying characterised the exercise.
“It should be noted that while the APC has over two third of the members of the state house of assembly in Bauchi and a clear majority in Sokoto state from the governorship elections, the re-run was rigged and was conducted without regards to laid down rules and regulations of INEC,” he said.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that Nabena said that the party’s decision on the selection and zoning of principal officers for the incoming 9th National Assembly is supreme.
He said that the party’s decision must be respected by its legislative caucus and opposition lawmakers in the National Assembly.

According to him the APC has learnt its lesson from the outgoing National Assembly which hijacked the party's mandate through impostors. "Affliction shall not rise up the second time," he said.
