Justice Sidi Dauda Bage, the new Emir of Lafia, is scheduled to enter the Lafia emirate palace on Friday, April 5.
Daily Trust reports that preparations are in top gear for the new emir to relocate from Abuja where he has been a justice of the Supreme Court to Lafia town, where he will assume his reign as the 17th emir of Lafia.
According to the news medium, the new emir is expected to enter the palace as an emir, receive homage and allegiance from title holders, community leaders and pray his first Friday, April 5, prayer at the central mosque located in the palace.

Meanwhile, the speaker, Nasarawa state House of Assembly, Alhaji Ibrahim Abdullahi, has called on people of the state to support the new Emir of Lafia, Justice Sidi Bage (rtd), to enable him succeed in his new assignment as a traditional ruler.
Abdullahi made the appeal while reacting to the appointments of the new Emir of Lafia, Emir of Awe and Osu Kadoko of Kadarko by Governor Tanko Al-Makura.
While felicitating with the new Emir of Lafia, Ibrahim urged him to bring his wealth of experience to bear for the overall growth and development of the state.
Recall that Legit.ng had reported that Alhaji Sidi Bage, Justice of the Supreme Court, emerged as the 17th Emir of Lafia emirate following the demise of Alhaji Mustapha Agwai I on January 10.

Haruna Osegba, the Nasarawa state commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs announced the selection of the emir on Tuesday, March 26, in Lafia following the state traditional council meeting.
