Bryant married Vanessa Laine in April 2001 but his parents were however not in attendance as they were opposed to the union because he was still young and was marrying a non-African-American.

The disagreement between Bryant and his parents would end two years later after the birth of his first daughter. Since then, the couple has had two other daughters.

In 2011, Laine filed for divorce citing irreconcilable differences with the two requesting for joint custody of the children. In 2013 however, the two took to social media to announce that they had called off their divorce.
