Beaking: Kogi House of Assembly sacks state chief judge

The Kogi state House of Assembly on Tuesday, April 2, allegedly sacked the state chief judge, Justice Nasir Ajana, despite the earlier outcry against the move.

According to unconfirmed report from Daily Independent, the state highest judicial officer was removed from office following an alleged meeting between the state speaker and Governor Yahaya Bello.

Prior to this alleged move, recalls that the senator representing Kogi West, Dino Melaye, had given hints on the move to sack Justice Ajana from office.

In a post available on his Twitter page, the Kogi senator alerted that plans had been perfected to remove the state high-ranking judicial officer.

Melaye said: ''Meeting just concluded in Kogi state govt house have mandated the Speaker Kogi State House of Assembly to illegally remove the chief judge of Kogi state tomorrow or face impeachment. We shall resist turning our state into a Banana State. We are watching...''

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Army had alerted the public on an alleged plan to use soldiers remove and eject the Kogi state chief judge from his official residence.
