The Nigerian Police Force (NPF) has announced the arrest of the suspected killers of a young Nigerian man, Kolade Johnson, who was hit by a stray bullet during a police raid in Lagos.
Legit.ng recalls that Kolade was killed on Monday, March 31, by the anti-cultism squad of the Nigeria Police Force while watching a football match in the Onipetesi area of Lagos state.
The 36 year-old victim was watching the Premier League match between Liverpool and Tottenham when the tragic incident happened.
His untimely death has generated massive anger across the country with almost every conversation putting blames of his death on bad policing
Pressured by the growing condemnations that trailed Kolade's death, the police, on Tuesday, April 02, announced on its official Twitter that the killers corps have been nabbed.
Police gave their names as Inspector Ogunyemi Olalekan and Sgt Godwin Orji, adding that they have been apprehended and subjected to internal disciplinary procedures.
The announcement read: ''The men suspected to have carried out the shooting of Kolade Johnson have been apprehended and subjected to internal disciplinary procedures. The CP has revealed their names as (1) Insp Ogunyemi Olalekan and (2) Sgt Godwin Orji attached to Anti Cultism Squad.''

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that the presidency had offered condolences to the family and friends of Kolade Johnson.
The presidency took to its Twitter page to offer its condolences to the family and friends of the victim, assuring that the team suspected of involvement in the shooting had been arrested and were undergoing disciplinary procedure.
