- The Ondo state governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, has called for a total reform of security
- Governor Akeredolu said that this is necessary considering the state's growing investment and industrialisation
- The governor, despite admitting that the state is peaceful, said that things will be better after the reform
In consideration of investment and industrialisation, Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu of Ondo, has said that the state needs complete overhauling in the area of security.
Akeredolu's statement was in reaction to the report of the first Ondo state security summit organised in January 2019.
Akeredolu vowed that the state security council, state executive council and Ondo state House of Assembly report will address the report to have a security policy document.
Although the governor admitted that the state is peaceful, he added that things will be much better with the security policy document becoming functional.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo state had accused Akeredolu of working against President Muhammadu Buhari's re-election.
In a chat with newsmen on Monday, February 18, the leaders said the APC's fortunes in the state were being affected by the governor's support for his allies who defected to the Action Alliance (AA).
