Serie A campaigners Lazio are reportedly planning a deal to sign Super Eagles forward Simeon Tochukwu Nwankwo in the summer transfer window.
According to Sportmediaset, Lazio are keen on offering the Crotone star about 3 million euros (N1.2 billion) as salary over the three year contract.
At the moment, the 26-year-old current deal at Crotone expires at the end of the 2018-2019 campaign, suggesting the Biancocelesti only need to sort out personal terms..
Interestingly, Nwankwo has netted 11 goals (3 assists) in 26 games in Italian Serie B this term, totaling 22 in 75 appearances since his arrival in Italy three years ago.
The forward plied his trade with Portuguese clubs Gil Vicente FC and Portimonense SC before arriving Crotone.
Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has showered encomiums on his players following their slim victory over Egypt in an international friendly at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba.
An early goal from newly invited Paul Onuachu propelled Nigeria over their north African counterpart in the game.
Though, no trophy was at stake at the end of the match, both teams have their pride to protect as they have been rivals in continental football for a long time.
The victory came on the back of the Eagles 3-1 win over Seychelles in the final group game of the 2019 African Cup of Nations qualifiers at the same venue.
