MFM FC midfielder Chijioke Akuneto has dedicated his goal against Enyimba in Sunday's Nigeria Professional Football League to his late daughter who died on Saturday, March 30.
The attacker scored the only goal that helped the Olukoya Boys avoid first home defeat of the season following their 1-1 draw against the seven time NPFL Champions.
Abdulrahman Bashir opened scoring for the visitors barely four minutes of the second half having played goalless draw in the first half.
However, the player who has scored four goals in 13 matches so far this season revealed that he was close to avoiding the match after losing his daughter a day before the clash, but his wife encouraged him to honour the game.
After saving the one time CAF Champions League campaigners from first home defeat, Akuneto dedicated the goal to his late daughter.
