- Cardiff City vs Chelsea ended in a 2-1 win for the Blues
- Chelsea remain fifth on the Premier League table following the win
- Loftus-Cheek's 91st minute winner was all the Blues needed to secure a hard fought victory
Chelsea survived a major scare to secure a 2-1 win against Cardiff City on Sunday, March 31, in the Premier League.
The Blues conceded after 52 seconds in the second half through Víctor Camarasa who grabbed his fifth goal of the season for Cardiff City.
The goal came after Harry Arter delivered a cross as Víctor Camarasa guided the ball into the back of the net to hand the hosts a lead.
It was the first time Camarasa has scored five goals across all competitions in a single season.
The Spanish midfielder who is on loan from Real Betis has scored against Arsenal, Man United and Chelsea this season as well as Leicester and West Ham.
Despite having all the possession in the first half, Chelsea had nothing to show for it as they had no shot on target.
The Blues were forced to introduce Eden Hazard into the game after 53 minutes for Pedro and Ruben Loftus-Cheek for Jorginho in the 63rd minute.
Chelsea's best chance in the second half came in the 73rd minute as Willian flashed an effort narrowly wide. Minutes after, Chelsea were forced to bring in Giroud for Higuain as they chased an equalizer.
The pressure finally paid off with six minutes left to play as Cesar Azpilicueta scored his first Premier League goal of the season off an Alonso's flick.
The Chelsea captain scored from close range but replay shows he was in an offside position. Minutes later, Rudiger escaped a red card for foul on Zahore.
But just when fans thought the game would end in a draw, Ruben Loftus-Cheek popped up with his first goal since December to break Cardiff hearts on the 91st minute.
The English man connected with Willian's cross to convert from close range to save Sarri's blushes. The victory sees Chelsea move up to 60 points but remain in sixth position, one point off the top four spot.
