Marcus Rashford’s 28th minute goal and Anthony Martial's 72nd minute controversial strike handed Manchester United a 2-1 win against Watford in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first game as the Red Devils permanent manager.
Abdoulaye Doucoure scored a 90th minute goal which ended up being a consolation for Watford who were very competitive in 90 minutes.
The victory also helped Man United move into the top four on 61 points ahead of Arsenal who have a game in hand.
Rashford’s goal came against the run of play after intense pressure from visiting Watford in the early period of the game.
The 21-year-old made no mistake from close range after he was played through on goal by Luke Shaw.
Prior to the goal, Watford did all the playing and had the opportunity to take the lead but failed to convert any of their chances. The first half ended 1-0 in favour of Man United.
At the resumption of the second half, Watford searched for all equalizer but were wasteful in goal and found Man United's goalkeeper David De Gea a hard nut to crack.
With 18 minutes left on the clock, Martial poked home from close range after his shot was blocked by Ben Foster but he managed to scoop the rebound into the back of the net. However, replay shows he was in an offside position before scoring.
But there was going to be a late consolation goal for Watford as Abdoulaye Doucoure played a sweet one-two with Isaac Success then danced through the Man United defence to halve the deficit.

Rashford and Martial took their tally to 10 goals in the Premier League this season which means Man United for the first time since 1995/96 season have four players with 10+ goals in a single Premier League season

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Tottenham Hotspurs manager Mauricio Pochettino, has congratulated Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after the Norwegian's appointment as Manchester United boss on permanent basis.
Solskjaer was named Man United full-time manager on Thursday, March 28, in a three-year deal.
