Police arrest 22-year-old man in Jigawa for hacking brother to death over cattle

- A 22-year-old man identified as Gambo Sa’idu has landed in the police net for allegedly hacking his brother to death during an argument over cattle

- The suspect is said to hail from Badakoshi village in Gwaram local government area of Jigawa state

- Sa’idu was said to have attacked the deceased in the bush while rearing cattle

The police command in Jigawa has arrested a 22-year-old man, Gambo Sa’idu of Badakoshi village in Gwaram local government area, for allegedly hacking his brother to death during an argument over cattle.

The command public relations officer, SP Audu Jinjiri, who confirmed the incident to NAN in Dutse, said one Gambo killed his brother Haladu, 40, using a cutlass.

Legit.ng gathers that he explained that Gwaram local government police station received the report around 2.45 pm on Wednesday, March 27, in Badakoshi village in Gwaram local government area of the state.

Jinjiri said the police has visited the scene of the crime.

He said: “The suspect attacked the deceased in the bush while rearing cattle."

Jinjiri said explained that the deceased was confirmed dead by a medical doctor in Gwaram General Hospital.

The spokesman added that preliminary investigation showed that the suspect allegedly killed his brother for possessing more cattle than him.

He said: “The suspect is also a drug abuser and is suspected to have committed the offence after taking some drug."

Jinjiri added that the case would be transferred to the State Criminal, Intelligence and Investigation Department in Dutse, for further investigation.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that the high court in Ondo sentenced to death by hanging one Seidu Adeyemi, the alleged killer of Khadijat Oluboyo, the daughter of former deputy governor of the state.

It would be recalled that Khadijah was a final year student of the Adekunle Ajasin University (AAU), Akungba Akoko, when she was killed.

The deceased's body was found inside the room of her killer boyfriend at his residence in Oke Aro area of Akure on July 2, 2018.
