Manchester United are upbeat star midfielder, Ander Herrera, will sign a new deal that will keep him at the club beyond the summer.

Herrera's current contract is expected to expire at the end of the season and negotiations for an extension have slowed down.

The midfielder's situation has thrown his future at Old Trafford under sharp speculation, with top clubs already salivating for his services.

French giants, Paris Saint-Germain, are said to have offered him a deal, with Arsenal also reported to be ready to table a rival bid for the Spaniard.

Despite playing an important role in interim boss, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's fine run since taking over from Jose Mourinho, United has done little to ensure Herrera commits his future at Old Trafford.

According to a UK Metro report, the 29-year-old is privately appalled club chiefs have prioritised contract talks with other members of the squad who still have over a year left on their deals.

However, the report disclosed the United board remain confident the former Athletic Bilbao midfielder will remain at Old Trafford.

Herrera joined the Manchester outfit in the summer of 2014 and currently pockets a base salary of around £100,000-per-week. earlier reported that Arsenal have entered the race to sign Manchester United midfielder, Ander Herrera this summer.

According to a UK Metro report, the Gunners are ready to rival French giants, Paris Saint-Germain, who are also interested in the services of Herrera.
