Moses Simon is one of the Super Eagles top performers after netting a goal in the 3-1 win over Seychelles’ Pirates in last Friday’s final 2019 AFCON qualifier at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba.
The Levante forward was also in action for the Gernot Rohr tutored-Eagles against Pharaohs of Egypt in an international friendly on Tuesday, March 26, that ended 1-0 in favour of Nigeria.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Legit.ng, Simon, who moved from the Belgian Jupiler league to the La Liga last summer, revealed that Barcelona playmaker remains one of the difficult opponent he faced in a football match.
“Lionel Messi is one of the toughest opponent I have faced in a match.
“He is something else. Messi is really good.
“I’ve played against Messi. He is a really good and he decides the game.
“I think he can destroy any opponent. Messi is really a good player and I cannot hide it,” submitted Moses Simon, who is looking forward to represent Nigeria at the 2019 AFCON in Egypt in the summer,
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Moses Simon was happy to be back to the Super Eagles team that defeated Seychelles 3-1 at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba.
The Levante winger who could not make it to last summer's World Cup in Russia owing to injury problems, scored Nigeria's third goal against the Pirates in Asaba.
Speaking exclusively to Legit.ng, the 23-year-old revealed that scoring a goal on his return was not the main thing but winning the match is more important.
