The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Wednesday, March 27, issued a certificate of return to the Imo state governor-elect, Emeka Ihedioha.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that a poll observer group known as the Women Fest for Better Life Living Initiative berated INEC for withholding the certificate of return of Governor Rochas Okorocha, the Imo West senator-elect.

Claiming that INEC was going beyond its limit, the group maintained that the electoral body had no right to withhold such document meant for any candidate that won an election.

INEC has insisted that it will not present certificate of return to Okorocha after its official claimed he announced the governor winner of the election under duress.
