Unai Emery, Arsenal boss, has reportedly shown interest in sanctioning the sale of Henrikh Mkhitaryan a year after the midfielder joined the Emirates outfit.
Mkhitaryan joined Arsenal in January 2018 in a swap deal that saw Alexis Sanchez join Manchester United.
The midfielder's move to the north London club saw him become one of the highest earners, pocketing £180,000-a-week in wages.
However, according to a UK Metro report citing The Mirror, Emery wants Mkhitaryan out of the club alongside Mesut Ozil.
The Spaniard contends the two players' massive wages could be better spent elsewhere as he seeks to bring in four new signings in the summer.
It is understood that Arsenal are financially crippled, and only have a modest kitty of around £40 million this summer should they fail to seal a place in the Champions League.
Therefore, the club will have to sell players to fund their planned spending spree.
Mohamed Elneny, Calum Chambers and Shkodran Mustafi are also up for sale after failing to impress.
Emery has already identified Celtic defender Kieran Tierney as one of his summer targets, alongside another central defender and a central midfielder who could fill the void left by Aaron Ramsey.
Earlier, Legit.ng reported Granit Xhaka made a shocking revelation he could be on his way out of Arsenal because he wants to play at the highest level of the game.
The Switzerland international has played 126 matches for the Gunners since making a summer move from Borussia Monchengladbach in 2016.
Xhaka signed recently signed a long term extension and has been a regular starter since the arrival of Unai Emery.
