A group known as Osun Concerned Citizens, on Wednesday, March 27, took to the streets of Osogbo, the state capital, to reject the verdict of the state election petition tribunal that annulled the victory of Governor Gboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Party (APC) in the September 22 governorship election.
According to Legit.ng reporter, the protest started at Ayetoro junction, a popular place very close to the old Igbona market, and is presently moving towards Olounkoro and Old Garage.
Recall that Legit.ng earlier reported that the election tribunal judgment on Osun 2018 governorship election ruled in favour of Senator Adeleke.
The three-member bench of the tribunal led by Justice Ibrahim Sirajo delivered its judgment at the Federal High Court, Apo, Abuja on Friday, March 22.
The petition was filed by the PDP and its governorship candidate, Adeleke, challenging the victory of Oyetola in the guber polls held in September 2018.
Senator Adeleke and the PDP had put forward a total of 20 prayers including prayer asking to be declared winner of the election and be issued certificate of return by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Legit.ng also gathered that the INEC said it can issue a certificate of return to Adeleke only if Governor Oyetola fails to appeal the judgment of the tribunal that sacked him within 21 days.
The commission, on Monday, March 25, debunked rumours that Adeleke had been issued a certificate of return.
