- Oluwa assures that the incoming APC government understands the current challenges in the state
The lawmaker representing Ajeromi-Ifelodun Constituency 2 at the Lagos House of Assembly, Hon Fatai Oluwa, has promised that the state will experience high-scale progress beginning from May 29, 2019 when a new government is formed.
Oluwa said both the legislative and the executive arms of the state government would hit the ground running as yearned by residents, many of whom came out to cast their votes.
A statement by his media office made available to journalists including Legit.ng correspondent quoted the lawmaker as making the promise while thanking the residents of the state for their continued trust in the government run by the All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to him, this trust resulted in the massive victory recorded by the party during the governorship and House of Assembly elections in the state.
Hon Oluwa thanked Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the national leader of the APC, for putting the party on a sound footing that resulted in the massive trust from the people of the state.
The lawmaker also praised the speaker of the House, Mudashiru Obasa, for remaining steadfast in making the legislative arm of the state the envy of others in the country.
"We understand the yearnings of people of our dear state, this is where we live in. Anyone who lives or do business here would understand the peculiarity of the state.
"Be that as it may, we all have absolute trust in the governor-elect, Babajide Sanwo-Olu to maintain that standard of excellence that Lagos has become known for.
"Also, under the current speaker, we passed life-changing bills into law. We passed the anti-kidnapping, the neighbourhood safety corps, the cancer research institute bills among others.

"We assure that the next four years would witness more people-oriented bills as well as a synergy between the legislature and the judiciary that would benefit the residents of the state," he said.
Legit.ng earlier reported that Babajide Sanwo-Olu emerged winner of the recent governorship election in Lagos state, beating Jimi Agbaje of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with 533,304 votes.
For Agbaje, the margin of loss was higher than what he recorded in 2015, when he lost to outgoing Governor Akinwunmi Ambode. He then polled 659,738 votes to Ambode’s 812,394.
