South Africans were left shocked and angered over a video of a woman stealing an 83-year-old grandma's handbag while her partner just looks on without stopping her.
On Sunday, March 24, a video was shared on South Africa Live's Facebook page which shows an elderly lady getting robbed by another woman.
The incident reportedly took place at China Town in Cape Town and was shared by Theresa Theart.
"Thieves will be thieves. An elderly 83-year-old woman robbed of her handbag while at China Town in CT," the video was captioned.
Social media users reacted to the video, adding they were ashamed of their fellow African people.
Sipho Jameson commented: "This brings sooooo much Shame and embarrassment to my fellow black ppl ey! This is beyond humiliation! It’s always us! Why us all the time! Is it the matter of coincidence or by design..."

Stanley Kutyauripo said:"So shamed by my fellow African."
Thomas Mhango added: "People like these are the reasons black people are painted with bad names."
Legit.ng saw other South Africans added that women should be cautious with their handbags in shopping centres and stores.
Simone Leigh wrote: "Keep your bag secure on your body. Very aware of people around you. That [was] quite sneaky though."

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that two women were caught stealing from a kiddies' store. In a video that recently surfaced online, the thieves were sighted stealing from a kiddies boutique while using a baby as a means of guise.
