The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Lagos has postponed the date of presentation of Certificate of Return to Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the governor-elect of the state and his deputy, Obafemi Hamzat.
The development was made public by the electoral commission’s public relations officer in Lagos, Femi Akinbiyi, The Guardian reports.
Legit.ng gathers that Akinbiyi disclosed that the event was moved from Wednesday, March 27 to Friday, March 29.
Sanwo-Olu had been declared winner of the Lagos state governorship election on Sunday, March 10.
According to the electoral commission, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate polled 739,445 votes to defeat his closest rival, Jimi Agbaje of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who polled 206,141 votes.

Recall that Legit.ng previously reported that the Independent National Electoral Commission said it will on Wednesday, March 27, present certificates of return to the governor-elect of Lagos, Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his deputy, Obafemi Hamzat.
Sam Olumekun, the INEC resident electoral commissioner for Lagos, said on Thursday, March 21, that the lawmakers-elect of the state’s House of Assembly would also be given certificates of return the same day.
