PDP pulled a stunning success in Bauchi - Atiku reacts as party upstages APC

The presidential candidate of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, in the morning of Tuesday, March 26, expressed excitement that his party upstaged the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi state.

Atiku said his party upstaged the APC in Bauchi describing it as a ‘stunning upset’.

“I congratulate governor-elect, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, who by the stunning upset he pulled in Bauchi, has shown that he is truly a man of the people. I am convinced the next 4 years will also show that he is a man for the people,” he said.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Bala Mohammed, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), gubernatorial candidate in Bauchi state, won the supplementary poll.

Mohammed polled a total of 6,376 votes, while the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Muhammed Abubakar, the current governor of the state, polled 5,117 votes.

However, the returning officer, pointed out that he cannot conduct a return since the case of the Tafawa Balewa local government areas is pending in court.

Senator Bala Mohammed earlier promised to bring back good governance denied the people.

Muhammed made the promise during a press conference in Bauchi on Sunday, March 24, shortly after the announcement of the supplementary poll results by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Mohammed polled 6,376 votes as against 5,117 garnered by the incumbent governor, Muhammed Abubakar of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
