Another building in Lagos marked for demolition has reportedly collapsed.
According to The Nation, the house which is located in Kakawa street, Lagos Island collapsed on Monday, March 25.
A resident in the street said since the house was marked for demolition, it has been vacant. No resident is reportedly in the collapsed building.
Recall that a similar incident happened in Lagos Island where a building which also housed a school collapsed.
Legit.ng reported that the All Progressives Congress (APC) said that it was deeply saddened by the collapse of a building housing a school and residential units in Itafaji, Lagos Island area of Lagos state.
Malam Lanre Issa-Onilu, the APC national publicity secretary, in a statement in Abuja on Thursday, March 14, said the incidence which led to several deaths and injuries, particularly among children was avoidable.
The wife of the president, Aisha Buhari, on Saturday, March 16, visited victims of the Ita-Faji building collapse at the Lagos Island General Hospital to sympathise with them.
The wife of the president offered her condolences to the victims of the incident, which claimed the lives of no fewer than 20 people, including school children.
Aisha, who took time to visit women and children wards of the hospital, prayed to God to grant the families that lost loved ones the fortitude to bear the loss.
