Moses Simon was recalled back to the Super Eagles team that defeated Seychelles 3-1 at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba.
The Levante winger who could not make it to last summer's World Cup in Russia owing to injury problems, scored Nigeria's third goal against the Pirates in Asaba.
Speaking exclusively to Legit.ng, the 23-year-old revealed that scoring a goal on his return was not the main thing but winning the match is more important.
"I feel excited but the most important thing is the winning and we qualified," Simon told Legit.ng.
Simon who struggled to get into full fitness at the start of the La Liga season, has played 15 matches in all competitions for Levante this season, scoring one goal.
The Ajax academy graduate believes Nigeria can go the way to win the Egypt 2019 tournament if they can work hard.
"We should go far, of course, we want to win. But we just need to work hard to get to that level," he added.

He narrowly missed out of Gernot Rohr's final 23-man squad to the World Cup and the former Gent star expressed his thoughts on being dropped from squad because of injury.
"I felt horrible, I felt so sad about it, so I took it with good fate an I believe everything happens for good.
"I just have to be patient and concentrate again."
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Wilfred Ndidi has expressed satisfaction after the Super Eagles battled past Seychelles by 3-1 in an AFCON qualifier played in Asaba.
The win saw the three-time African champions top Group E after finishing with 13 point, four above South Africa who will battle Libya for second spot.
