Leon Balogun's coach at Brighton Chris Hughton has requested that Super Eagles handler should play the center-back in the AFCON qualifier against Seychelles and the friendly with Egypt.
The Nigerian international who has only played eight games scoring one for Brighton in the Premier League this, is coming back from a shoulder injury.
Hughton stressed that the 30-year-old needs to regain match fitness with upcoming games at the Stephen Keshi stadium in Asaba, Delta state.
‘’The good thing, particularly with the cup run, is the players that haven’t featured so much have at least had games,’’ Hughton said to Brighton’s official website.
“Leon Balogun, for example, is going away on international duty with Nigeria and we’re hoping he plays both matches.”

The former Mainz defender has played seven of the last eight international games under Rohr but missed the goalless draw against Uganda.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Super Eagles stars were in top shape as they kicked-off their training session in grand style ahead of their 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) final qualifying game against Seychelles and Egypt friendly.
Reports via Super Eagles official Twitter handle, revealed that all 23 players invited for the match took active part during the session at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba.
