"Like I’ve always said, Real Madrid is a dream for anyone. It’s one of the biggest clubs in the world. There is also [Zinedine] Zidane as a coach and it’s a dream for anybody who likes football," he told Sky Sports.
It was believed the midfielder was happy at the Premier League club after rediscovering his spark under interim boss, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
The 26-year-old was even said to have reassured the Norwegian he had no intention of quitting in the summer despite previous reports linking him with a move away.
However, his comments admitting playing for Madrid under Zinedine Zidane would be a dream have cast doubt over his future at Old Trafford.
The comments have now sparked anger among a section of United fans who now want the midfielder to leave.
@uncensored111 tweeted: "So, Paul Pogba is flirting with Real Madrid, very what? Very nice."
Be that as it may, there are some who still believe a possible Pogba departure would be justified.
Meanwhile, the former Juventus star has scored nine goals and bagged seven assists in 17 appearances under Solskjaer.
Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Paul Pogba has finally revealed the reason that made Manchester United board to sack former coach Jose Mourinho claiming that it was not because of any player.
The Frenchman and Jose Mourinho had issues at Old Trafford in which many pundits and fans believed Pogba played a big role in the exit of the Portuguese at Manchester United.
But the 2018 World Cup winner has absorbed himself of any blame that led to the sacking of Jose Mourinho claiming that he was fired because the club were not winning.
