Nigerians react to Legit.ng poll, reveal what government should do to stop building collapse

Nigerians have revealed what government should do to stop the incidences of building collapses across the country.

This shared their opinion in a recent poll conducted by Legit.ng on Facebook and Twitter.

While some Nigerians who reacted to the polls urged the government to give financial assistance to landlords which will enable them maintain their buildings, others criticised people living in such houses.

On Twitter, 87% of Nigerians said weak building should be demolished while the other 13 called for the arrest of the owners of such buildings.

Akinsola is blaming parents who allow their children attend school in such buildings.

Some are saying the government needs to assist landlords as such houses could be the last hope for many of them.

Such buildings need to be demolished, according to ChrisGod.

Launch war against substandard building materials.

Use of artisans instead of structural engineers one of the causes of collapsed buildings.

Demolish the buildings and arrest the owners.

Recall that Legit.ng had previously reported that Aisha Buhari, the wife of President Muhammadu Buhari, commiserated with the families of victims of building collapse in Ita-Faaji, Lagos.

Legit.ng reports that Buhari, in a condolence message sent through her tweeter handle on Friday, March 15, prayed to God to grant the families the fortitude to bear the loss.
