A federal lawmaker has commended President Muhammadu Buhari for his good leadership virtues especially before, during and after the general election.
Danlami Kurfi, a member of the House of Representatives, representing, Dustima/Kurfi federal constituency said President Buhari has done well by clearly stating that himself or his office would not interfere with rerun elections across six states in Nigeria.
Speaking on Wednesday, March 20, Kurfi said the rerun election is an opportunity for governors in various states especially those contesting for second term to showcase how they have served their people.
Kurfi said: "The decision the president has taken is the best for our democracy. Look at what is happening in Kano, Bauchi and the rest of them."
"This is an opportunity for the state governors especially those of them contesting for a second tenure to show Nigerians that they have worked in the previous administrations.
"It is also an opportunity for these governors, especially we politicians to that if you want the peoples vote you must work for it.
The good thing is that Nigerians are wiser now, the people know what they what, so it is good that the President has assured that he will not interfere with what INEC is doing in these states.
Let these governor and we politicians show how much they we connected to the people and their needs in the states and localities," Kurfi concluded.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that the Presidency had assured Nigerians that President Buhari will not interfere in the rerun elections slated for Saturday, March 23 across the country by the INEC.

The presidency, in a statement issued by presidential spokesman Garba Shehu on Sunday, March 17 warned against hate speeches and incitement to violence through comments by political leaders.
The presidency also knocked members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) who are criticizing Buhari's refusal to use federal might to sway results in their favour.
