Popular Ghanaian media personality Afia Schwarzenegger is talking about domestic violence and why she established a foundation that empowers women suffering from domestic violence.
The media personality revealed that her ex-husband's acid threat on her had led her to make the decision to start the foundation.
In a report by GhanaWeb, Schwarzenegger revealed that she had been contacted by a domestic violence association from the United States who thought her ex-husband had gone through with his threat to pour acid on her.
She revealed that she was urged by the organisation to educate women who suffer domestic violence through her lifestyle. She noted that they advised her to make women understand that marriage is not a yardstick of success.

Schwarzenegger said: “They were a group of medical doctors who came together to form an organisation that supports domestic violence victims and also to empower women.
"Initially, they thought I had been affected by the acid attack but thanks to God nothing happened to him.
"They later encouraged me to put up a domestic violence foundation to empower women through my lifestyle and make women understand that marriage is not a yardstick of success.
"Through the support from my foreign partners, Leave to Live Foundation was built and we have been able to impact a lot of women."
The media personality was threatened by her ex-husband after he caught her in bed with another man.
