- APC governorship candidate, Emmanuel Jime, has called for the restriction of PDP chieftains movement during the exercise
Ahead of Saturday’s supplementary elections in Benue state, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Emmanuel Jime, has called for the restriction of movement for Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftains during the elections.
Jime made the request via a statement sent to journalists on Wednesday, March 20 by the deputy director communications of Jime/Ode Campaign Organisation (JOCO), Kula Tersoo,
He particularly asked security agencies in the state to carefully watch Governor Samuel Ortom, ex-governor Gabriel Suswam and two others.
The others are ex-interior minister and senator-elect, Comrade Abba Moro and a House of Representatives member-elect, Herman Hembe.
He said the PDP chieftains should be held responsible if there was breakdown of law and order during the exercise.
According to him, the security agencies should ensure that those who had no business in areas where the rerun was to take place stayed away.
“These people have track records of mischief,” he said.

Meanwhile, the PDP has expressed confidence that it will win all the governorship supplementary elections scheduled for Saturday, March 23.
This was contained in a statement sent to Legit.ng by the national publicity secretary of the party, Kola Ologbodiyan on Sunday, March 17.
The opposition party accused the APC of playing the victim, even as it accused the government of planning violence and manipulations across the states.
