- Thibaut Courtois may not be interested in returning to Premier League anytime soon
- The Belgian star joined Real Madrid last summer from Chelsea in a six year deal
- Courtois has however endured a poor start to his career at the Santiago Bernabeu having conceded 42 goals in 32 appearances
- Madrid are now planning to offer the 26-year-old in exchange for David De Gea once this season wraps up in May
Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has reportedly turned down a move to join Manchester United in exchange for David De Gea this summer.
The Belgian goal tender joined Los Blancos on his return from the 2018 FIFA World Cup where he won bronze medal with his national team.
He has however struggled all through this campaign - conceding 42 goals in 32 appearances in all competitions so far.
SunSport reports that both United and Real are already negotiating a deal for both shot-stoppers, but the former Chelsea star seems uninterested in returning to the Premier League soon.
Courtois was benched in Madrid's 2-0 win over Celta Vigo over the weekend as Zinedine Zidane got his second reign at the club off to a winning start.
The Frenchman was said to have informed Courtois his decision was simply to give Keylor Navas an opportunity and did not mean he had lost his place long term.
De Gea is yet to sign a new deal with the Red Devils and Los Blancos are hoping they can exploit that avenue to land the Spaniard this summer.
Meanwhile, Courtois has been heavily criticised by Madrid fans following their 4-1 thrashing by Ajax in the Champions League this month.
And his dad, Thierry Courtois has spoken out at what he claims is the victimization of his son.
Thierry said: "I feel that everyone is targeting Thibaut. The Spanish press, and also the Flemish. As a father, I can not ignore that.
"A goalkeeper is always the first target, it is part of the job. For right or wrong, I let you judge that.
"But after the match against Ajax, he was targeted because of the fourth goal after he’d played well. This single mistake has taken on huge proportions."
Real president Florentino Perez has not hidden his desire to sign Neymar from PSG and remains hopeful Courtois could be part of a deal.
Legit.ng earlier reported that Real Madrid shot-stopper, Thibaut Courtois, has been crowned the Best Goalkeeper of 2018 by the International Federation of Football History and Statistics.
The Belgium international, who sealed a move from Chelsea to Los Blancos last summer garnered 181 votes.
Reports reveal that he beats Tottenham Hotspur keeper Hugo Lloris and PSG's Gianluigi Buffon to the prize.
