Arsenal goalkeeper, David Ospina, has been discharged from hospital a day after he was admitted for collapsing during a Serie A match while in action for Napoli.

Ospina, who is currently on loan with the Italian giants Napoli suffered a freak head injury after colliding with Udinese player, Ignacio Pusseto.

The 30-year-old fell to the ground moments later just before the break and had to be taken to hospital for further examinations.

Napoli boss, Carlo Ancelloti, later confirmed the shot-stopper was recovering, with a CAT scan on him revealing the injury was not severe.

In a statement by Napoli released on Monday afternoon, March 18, the club disclosed Ospina had been discharged and was set for some rest.

"David Ospina was discharged this afternoon from the Pineta Grande Clinic where he had been hospitalised last night for a series of investigations and specialist visits. All tests are negative,” a statement from Napoli read.

The Colombian international has since confirmed he was fine and recovering.

I am fine and recovering with my family. I hope to be back soon and stronger than ever!” he tweeted.

He is currently on a season-long loan with Napoli from Arsenal but could ink a permanent deal at the summer.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Napoli goalkeeper, David Ospina, was rushed to a hospital after collapsing on the pitch while in action for his Serie A side on Sunday night, March 17.

The 30-year-old, who is currently on loan with the Italian League side collided with Udinese player, Ignacio Pussetto in the first half of the tie.

Ospina fell to the ground just moments before the break after the visitors restored parity having been two goals down.
