Lady excited about job offer only to find out it was a mistake

A woman’s worst fears were confirmed when she answered a message to attend training for a new job only to discover the company had contacted her by mistake, shattering her hopes of being gainfully employed.

Lindelwa Mhlakaza went for a job interview and was despondent when they failed to contact her to inform her of the outcome. She accepted the fact that no response likely meant no job, and moved on from the disappointment.

That is, until she later received a message from the company saying that she should come through for training. Only minutes later, she received a call from them, explaining that the message had actually been a mistake, learned.

Lindelwa shared her story on social media and added that she was still recovering from the roller-coaster of emotions.

Twitter users felt her pain and compassionately reached out to her, offering her their sympathies and adding a little humour to lighten the situation.

Many users felt that she should just pitch up for the interview and one user added that she should tell them that “God doesn’t make mistakes”.

Other users took a legal stance on the issue and said she would have grounds to take the matter court if she wished, while some believed there was a conspiracy and nepotism lurking in the company and suggested someone didn’t want her to get the job so that a friend or relative could be employed instead.

Meanwhile previously reported that a lady berated an unemployed youth for rescheduling a job interview with her.

A Twitter user identified as Lillian Bususu recently took to her Twitter page to narrate her experience with an unemployed youth that she had given a telephone call.

According to the lady who tweeted from Johannesburg, South Africa, she placed the call through to invite the job seeker for an interview. The young man had in turn responded by saying he was busy and asked that the interview should be rescheduled for a later date.

Bususu had afterwards taken to her Twitter to dismiss the young man who she had described as being entitled.
