Real Madrid have confirmed the arrival of Zinedine Zidane’s first signing after his return as the club as sealed a massive deal for Brazilian defender Eder Militão.

The 21-year-old Militão, who moved to Porto from Brazilian side Sao Paulo last summer, has been in top form since arriving European football and has emerged the best defender in Portuguese topflight for the fourth time in February.

In a brief statement in Real Madrid’s official website, the Los Blancos confirmed that the defender has penned a six-year deal at the Santiago Bernabeu, starting from June 30.

Interestingly, the centre-half, who also doubles as a right-back, featured 20 times for Porto in the Portuguese topflight this campaign, netting two goals along with two assists.

Two Premier League giants Manchester United and Liverpool were repeatedly linked with the Selecao star before Real Madrid sealed the deal for his signature.

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Jose Mourinho believes Real Madrid’s decision to name Zinedine Zidane as new boss is a step in the right direction.

According to Metro, the Portuguese tactician, who was sent packing by Man United mid-December was close to a return to the Santiago Bernabeu after talks with Madrid president Florentino Perez, but senior squad members, including skipper Sergio Ramos, objected the decision to bring back Mourinho.
