Kano supplementary election is do or die for us - APC chair reportedly says

- Chairman of the APC in Kano, Abdullahi Abbas, says the forthcoming supplementary election in the state is a do or die affair

- Abdullahi Abbas reportedly said the party is ready to provide maximum protection to supporters during the election

- Going further, he says if they are arrested, they would be released before they get to the police station

The forthcoming supplementary election in Kano has been described as a do or die contest according to the state chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Abbas.

Daily Trust reports that the party chairman in a short video told his supporters that they were ready to provide them maximum protection as they work towards the success of the APC during the supplementary election scheduled to hold on March 23.

“There is every possibility that you can be arrested (by the police),” he enthused.

“But let me tell you; before you get to the police station we will make sure you are released and the police that arrested you will likely lose his job.

“We are going to give you every protection that is required. This election is a matter of do or die for us. We must win this election,” Abbas was quoted to have said.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that the senior special assistant to Kano state's Governor Abdullahi Ganduje on urban beautification, Hashim Suleiman, had allegedly resigned from his government over the governor's refusal to accept defeat in the governorship election.

Suleiman, in a resignation letter reportedly submitted on Wednesday, March 13, said that the governor lost to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)'s candidate, Abba Kabir Yusuf, but refused to accept defeat.
