Breaking: Locals pelt Ambode as governor visits scene of building collapse
Some residents of Itafaji area of Lagos Island have pelted Governor Akinwunmi Ambode with sachets of water as he left the venue of the collapsed building where over 80 school children were said to be trapped under the debris.
The outgoing Lagos governor had arrived the scene from the left wing of the collapsed building but could not get close to the point of the collapse as the crowd grew apprehensive against him.

Legit.ng correspondent on ground at the scene of the incident reports that the people expressed their displeasure at the spate of building collapse in the area, and angrily asked the governor to leave as they believed the state government is the architect of the recurring incident.
As at the time of compiling this report, it could not be ascertained if the governor was still hanging around the premises or if he has totally left.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that an undisclosed number of children of a primary school were feared to have been killed after the three-storey building collapsed in Lagos state on Wednesday, March 13.
According to report, other persons were believed to be trapped in the debris of the collapsed structure which was reportedly housing a primary school on the top floor.
