Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has reportedly told captain Sergio Ramos to leave the final say of his future at the Bernabeu to his coaching staff.

Zidane was said to have met the Spain international due to the respect he has for him and also considering their relationship during his first stint at the club.

Jose Mourinho is the first man to have been linked with a return to Real Madrid following the club's unimpressive performance, but Ramos reportedly kicked against the Portuguese.

There were also reports that Sergio Ramos would consider leaving the club if they should appoint Jose Mourinho as Solari's replacement.

And according to the report by Marca, Zinedine Zidane called Sergio Ramos shortly after the press conference to discuss details of his return.

The 32-year-old was then urged to leave the final say with his coaching staff as Real Madrid are now on the verge of ending the season without a trophy.

Zidane will take charge of his first training session back at Real on Wednesday, March 13, as preparations begin for this weekend's clash with Celta Vigo.

Los Blancos are currently occupying third position on the Spanish La Liga standings with 51 points after 27 games played this season.
