David Beckham was the victim of a finely executed prank by friend and James Corden, host of the Late Show with James Corden, that took him almost two months to plan.
Beckham was attending the unveiling of a statue made to honour his services to his former MLS football team LA Galaxy, when Corden pounced on the opportunity to have a go at fooling Beckham.
According to CNN, the cheeky plot came to mind when word of Beckham not having seen the statue reached Corden and he proceeded to hire a crew to make his own quaky caricature of the Englishman.
Corden's goofy statue of Beckham had the Manchester United legend spoiling an extraordinarily broader-than-life chin, zombie-like eyes and a petite behind.
And Beckham's reaction to seeing the statue was truly priceless and worth all the effort.

"It's slightly different that what it was when i saw it in Chicago," he observed with shock in his eyes.
"I mean, look at my chin. It doesn't really look nothing like me. I mean, look at my eyes. The only thing that's good is that hair an that's about it. I really don't see how this can go out," Beckham went on.
And shortly after a forklift brought down the statute as the show host appeared, to Beckham's utter bewilderment.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that English lower League division Salford City have announced that former Manchester United winger David Beckham has become a shareholder in the National League side.
The Englishman is said to have secured a 10 percent shares of the club and therefore joins the likes of Ryan Giggs, Gary Neville, Phil Neville, Paul Scholes who are also shareholders.
