Marvopolus said he was mad that he missed his flight because he could not get anyone to help to the gate on time.

He was also the president of the International Solid Waste Association and was making a journey to Nairobi to attend a UN-organised on environmental issues.

Mavropolos said he tried booking an immediate flight after missing the first one but was not allowed to do so as he was taken to the police station for question since he was the only one not on board the crashed airline.

He was going to protest being taken to the station but the police told him not to but to rather thank God as he was the only one who missed the air accident.

He said: "They led me to the police station of the airport. The officer told me not to protest but to pray to God because I was the only passenger that didn't board the ET 302 flight that was lost."
