With curtain gradually drawing on the 2019 general elections, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) said it has set aside Thursday, March 14, for the presentation of the certificates of return for members of the 9th National Assembly.
Speaking on Monday, March 11, the commission's secretary, Rose Orianran-Anthony, also disclosed that the presentations will take place at the Main Hall (Africa Hall), International Conference Centre (ICC), Abuja, Daily Trust reports.
Legit.ng gathers that the senators-elect will get their certificates at 10am while the presentation of the certificate for members of the House of Representatives will be by 2pm.
She said: “All National Assembly members-elect are required to come along with photo identification, such as Permanent Voter’s Card, Nigerian Driver’s License, National Identity Card or International Passport.
“Each member-elect is entitled to be accompanied by a maximum of five (5) guests only. The national chairman and national secretary of political parties that sponsored members-elect are also invited.
"Only members-elect as listed on the commission’s website are invited to the ceremony."

The chairman of the INEC, Mahmood Yakubu, had earlier said that the electoral commission will not issue certificates of return to any candidate declared winner of an election under duress.
Legit.ng reported that the INEC chairman said the commission will not tolerate the intimidation and forcing its staff to declare winners under duress.
