Emery claims Arsenal's understanding of United tactics was key to Sunday's win

Arsenal manager, Unai Emery, has singled out his understanding of Manchester United's style of play as key during the 2-0 win over the Red Devils at the Emirates.

Two goals in either halves from Granit Xhaka and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang gifted Arsenal a comfortable win as they moved to fourth on the log.

Be that as it may, United would have themselves to blame after blowing a couple of glorious goalscoring chances.

Romelu Lukaku, Marcus Rashford and Fred all had opportunities to score, but were denied by Leno who was between the sticks for Arsenal.

Emery has now come out to explain that his understanding of United style along with Leno's spectacular display saw the Gunners claim maximum points.

"We knew Manchester United could use different tactics but we wanted to impose our game plan and I think we did that," the Spaniard was quoted saying by the UK Metro.
"Our goalkeeper is very important and sometimes the goalkeeper can save us and today I’m very proud of his work," he added.

The German shot-stopper could be handed another start when Arsenal battle French side, Rennes, at the Emirates for a place in the quarter finals of the Europa League.

The Premier League side will head into the match with the hope of overturning Rennes' 3-1 goal advantage.

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Liverpool returned to winning ways after defeating Burnley 4-2 at Anfield on Sunday, March 10, to keep their title hopes alive.

The Reds were desperate to cart away all the three points before their fans after dropping points against rivals, Everton, in their last Premier League clash played at Goodison Park.

As such they made no mistake against their visitors as they dominated proceedings in the opening exchanges of the encounter
