- Aubameyang has revealed Xhaka's nickname as Xhakaboom after his fine game against Man United
- Granit Xhaka scored Arsenal's opener against Manchester United at the Emirates
- Aubameyang was also on target from the penalty spot to cement the Gunner's 2-0 win
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has praised Granit Xhaka for his heroics in their 2-0 win over Manchester United at the Emirates.
Xhaka played an integral part in the win, scoring the hosts' opener in the first half of the Sunday, March 10, encounter.
Swiss swerved a powerful shot in the 12th minute which sent David de Gea the wrong way to gift his side an early lead.
The curler did not go unnoticed by United boss, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who asserted Xhaka could be from Brazil given how he curved the ball spectacularly.
However, Aubameyang seemed well aware of the power the Switzerland international posses when taking shots and even went on to reveal the 26-year-old's nickname.
"The goal is really great. We know that when Granit shoots on the target, it’s a really, really good shot," he said.
"All the team is very happy. We call him Xhakaboom," he divulged.
The Unai Emery-tutored side will now be hoping to build on the momentum in their push to finish in the top four at the end of the season.
They currently sit fourth on the log with 60 points, just two ahead of now fifth-placed Manchester United.
Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Arsenal handed Manchester United their first Premier League defeat since the arrival of Ole Gunnar Solakjaer in December 2018 beating the Red Devils 2-0.
The victory ensured the Gunners overtake the Red Devils at the fourth position with two points better than the visitors.
United got the first clear chance to score in the match but Romelu Lukaku's effort was denied by the woodwork.
