Osinbajo, Atiku, Aregbesola in mourning over Adesanmi’s death

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola are mourning the death of a prominent Nigerian scholar, Pius Adesanmi.

Adesanmi, a popular Nigerian professor and columnist based in Canada, was on the Ethiopian Airlines plane that crashed in the early hours of Sunday, March 10.

The Ethiopian Airlines flight, traveling between Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and Nairobi, the Kenyan capital, crashed, killing 149 passengers and eight crew members aboard.

The vice president’s aide, Laolu Akande, released a tweet on his handle, @akandeoj, on Sunday.

On his part, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, remembered the deceased for his progressive advocacy and insightful contribution towards a better Nigeria.

Also, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, the former governor of Osun state, expressed shock over the development; pointing out that the world has lost an excellent being.

In a similar development, Legit.ng previously reported that Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state expressed deep shock over the tragic death of Professor Pius Adesanmi.

Governor Bello who described Professor Adesanmi as an illustrious, worthy, great son and proud ambassador of Kogi state, said the latter’s death was a personal loss to him.

He said Kogi had lost an accomplished academic, conscience of the society and a great Nigerian who shone brightly on the global stage and brought immense recognition and honour to his fatherland.
