Ex-governor Donald Duke’s second daughter and husband welcome baby girl

Nela Duke, the second daughter of Cross River's ex-governor, Donald Duke, recently put to bed her first child with her politician hubby, Asuquo Ekpeyong.

The proud mom took to her Instagram page to announce the birth of her daughter whom she named Muri. In a post also celebrating International Women's Day, the new mom prayed upon the life of her child and thanked God for choosing her as a mom.

She wrote: "Happy International Women’s Day! . Im dedicating this post to my daughter, Alexandra . May you grow in love, burn with passion and thrive in knowledge and strength.Through the ebbs and flows I will always be by your side. To Your Grandmothers, Aunts and Godmothers, I thank you for the integral role you will play in her life."

The birth of their first fruit comes barely a year after the two got married.

The couple held their white wedding in Switzerland amidst their close friends and family. Nela’s husband, Asuquo Ekpeyong is the current commissioner of finance in Cross River state. Some of the couple’s friends and family members spotted at the wedding include Debola Williams, Vimbai Mutinhiri, Dr Caise, and others.
