Former PDP chairman, others decamp to APC in Kebbi

- Alhaji Ali Bagudo, a former chairman of the PDP in Kebbi has defected to the APC alongside others

- The Kebbi state governor, Atiku Abubakar Bagudu, received the defectors; telling them that the APC will take them to the promised land

- The Kebbi APC chairman, Sani Kangiwa, also promised to carry them along in the activities of the state

Alhaji Ali Bagudo, a former chairman of the Kebbi chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Alhaji Abdullahi Maigandi Yauri, the zonal vice chairman of the party in Kebbi South, have defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The defectors and their supporters were received by the state governor, Atiku Abubakar Bagudu, Daily Trust reports.

Legit.ng gathers that Bagudu, while receiving the decampees, expressed happiness at their decision to join the ruling party.

He said: “You have made a wise decision by coming to the party that will take you to the promised land.

“APC, whose slogan is change, has touched the lives of the masses through empowering of youths and women.”

Also present at the event was the chairman of the APC in the state, Alhaji Sani Kangiwa, who lauded the defectors for their decision.

Kangiwa promised to carry them along in the activities of the state and promised fairness.

He said: “It is good we join hands together and move the state forward. Governor Bagudu has done a lot in the state; there is need to support his re-election to complete the ongoing projects.”

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that no fewer than 700 members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Action Democratic Party (ADP), on Tuesday, March 5, defected to the APC in Lagos.

The defectors joined the APC at an elaborate ceremony at the party secretariat in Ikeja.

Some of the new entrants into the ruling party include Mary Dominance, ADP House of Representatives candidate (Apapa) in the February 23, elections and Linda Famoruti, coordinator, Non-Indigenes group in Lagos PDP.
