Barely three days to the 2019 gubernatorial elections across Nigeria, no fewer than nine candidates of various political parties in Adamawa state have withdrawn from the poll and supported the PDP's flag bearer, Ahmad Umar Fintiri.
The candidates stated that they believed that Fintiri would address issues like infrastructural decay, institutions failure and total collapse of education sector.
Reports claimed that an elated Fintiri appreciated the candidates for their gesture, assuring them of an inclusive government if elected.
It was learnt that the state working committee of the APC, said it is not worried by the development, stressing that the party would win all elective posts in the polls.
Earlier, Legit.ng had reported that the governor of Taraba state, Darius Ishaku, might have become more optimistic about his second term ambition as 15 governorship candidates stepped down to work for his victory at the polls.
The governorship election will hold on March 9 across many states of the federation.
The governorship candidates said their joint decision to step down followed the realization that the state had been peaceful as a result of Ishaku’s favourable governance.
They also commended the governor for his developmental strides, respect for democracy and qualitative leadership. The governorship candidates stepped down about 24 hours after the APGA endorsed Darius ahead of the election.
