Real Madrid were on Tuesday night, March 5, bundled out of the 2018/19 Champions League competition after losing against Ajax at the Santiago Bernabeu.
This will be the first time since 2009/10 that Real Madrid will be out of the Champions League without reaching the last four.
Ajax hadn't even qualified for the Champions League for the past four seasons, and the last time they even reached the last 16 of the competition was 13 years ago.
Los Blancos did have chances throughout the second half but couldn't find the killer pass or finish to get back into the game and Ajax kept plugging away.
Football fans around the world have now reacted to the elimination of Real Madrid in this season's Champions League.
Some fans are of the opinion that the club made a great mistake to have allowed Ronaldo leave, while others said the club should have begged Zidane to stay.
