Premier League giants Tottenham have qualified for the quarterfinal of the 2018/19 Champions League after beating Borussia Dortmund 1-0 on Tuesday night, March 5, in Germany.

Tottenham had already given themselves a great chance to progress to the next round from the first leg match which they won 3-0 at the Wembley stadium.

Borussia Dortmund started the match impressively with the aim of turning the table around in front of their faithfuls.

Manuel Akanji led the first attack against Tottenham from the defense in the 5th minute via a brilliant run before his shot was blocked by Sanchez.

The hosts continued to dominate the game looking for their first goal, but Tottenham defenders were at their best as the first half ended goalless.

Tottenham changed their style of play in the second half, and it took them only four minutes to score their goal through Harry Kane who was assisted by Moussa Sissoko in the 49th minute.

Dortmund tried all they could to at least score in front of their fans, but they were unable to find the back of the net as the match ended 1-0.

Spurs have now qualified for the quarterfinal of the Champions League winning 4-0 on aggregate.

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Tottenham gaffer Mauricio Pochettino finally landed a title for himself after being named manager of the year at London Football Awards on Thursday night, February 28.

Since the Argentine football manager took over at Tottenham, he has never won a trophy and has been criticized by football fans and pundits.

The 46-year-old year now has something to smile with even though the expectation of many will be for him to win either the Premier League, Champions League or FA Cup.
