Gonzalo Higuain could be on his way out of Chelsea in the summer if his parent club Juventus are willing to sell the striker to another club.
The Argentine international was loaned to Stamford Bridge on a six months deal with a view of making it permanent but it does not look possible at the moment.
The west London club have been handed a two transfer window ban for 29 breaches of FIFA rules regarding the signing of foreign players under the age of 18, which could prevent them from buying Higuain in the summer window.
And, Juve are seriously looking to get another buyer for the loanee should Chelsea's appeal against the ban fall on deaf ears.
According to Italian news media outlet Calciomercato, the Bianconeri had a first-hand knowledge about the possibility of Chelsea getting hammered when a loan deal was arranged for Higuain.
