Nigeria vs Belgium: Super Falcons lose 1-0 to European team at 4-nation tournament

The Super Falcons have suffered their second defeat at the ongoing four-nation tournament in Cyprus as they prepare for the FIFA Women's World Cup in the summer.

The Europeans got into the lead as early as the seventh minute through Elena Dhont to put the Dutch side ahead by 1-0 over the African champions.

The Super Falcons posed an attacking threat through Barcelona forward Asisat Oshoala but to no avail in the 41st minute.

The Red Flames went into the break with a 1-0 lead as Thomas Dennerby side had the tails between their legs.

A couple of changes were made in the second but it did not change the outcome of the match as the Belgian team went away with win

Nigeria have now lost two matches in the tournament.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that the Super Falcons were beaten by Slovakia by 4-1 in their first game at the four-nations tournament in Cyprus.

The Nigerian goalkeeper Tochukwu Oluehi was sent off as early as the fifth minute as the African champions finished the match with ten men.
