- President Buhari will be meeting APC members in Akwa Ibom and Imo states
- The president's visit is expedient as March 9 gubernatorial and state assemblies elections draw nearer
- Buhari will also pay a courtesy visit to states including Kaduna, Taraba, Sokoto and Katsina
President Muhammadu Buhari will on Monday, March 4, visit the southeast state of Imo and Akwa Ibom on a courtesy visit ahead of the governorship and state assemblies elections.
Vanguard reports that Buhari will facilitate his thank-you visit towards various town hall meetings with prominent personalities across states marked on the president's visiting list.
Legit.ng gathers that President Buhari would also visit states including Kaduna, Taraba, Sokoto and Katsina ahead of election.
According to report, the president would use his visit to Imo to settle long standing feud between Governor Rochas Okorocha and top party leaders in the state.
Okorocha has been at loggerhead with some top APC members including party's national chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, following the APC primary election.
The president would also channel his visit to meeting with APC stakeholders in Akwa Ibom including former minority leader, Godswill Akpabio.
Akpabio, a former governor of Akwa Ibom, who dumped PDP in 2018, lost Ikot Ekpene senatorial district in the February 23 National Assembly election.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that some chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Imo had described Governor Rochas Okorocha’s suspension by the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) as well deserved.
Speaking on the development on Saturday, March 2, a party chieftain, Jude Agu, said Okorocha had been engaged in anti-party activities in his quest to make his son in-law succeed him as governor.
