Gernot Rohr has released the names of the 23 Nigerian players who will face Seychelles in 2019 AFCON qualifier and the friendly game with Egypt in Asaba, Delta state.
Captain of the team Mikel Obi was snubbed by Gernot Rohr and former Kano Pillars' star Ahmed Musa is now expected to lead the side.
Rohr also named Flying Eagles’ defender Valentine Ozornwafor as well as former U17 World Cup winner Victor Osimhen and Denmark based Paul Onuachu.
Nigeria will face Seychelles on Friday, March 22 and then tackle the Pharaohs of Egypt at the same venue in an international friendly four days later.
All invited players alongside technical and backroom crew, are to report in the Delta state capital Asaba on Monday, March 18, according to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
Already, the Super Eagles of Nigeria have qualified for the 2019 African Cup of Nations in Egypt, and their match against Seychelles will be a ceremonial duel.
Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how the Nigeria Football Federation confirmed that Chelsea winger Victor Moses is eager to make a return to the Super Eagles ahead of the 2019 African Cup of Nations.
Victor Moses announced his retirement from international football after the Super Eagles' campaign at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
And while speaking on Channels TV, NFF president Amaju Pinnick made it clear that he is in touch with Victor Moses over a possible return to the Super Eagles.
